Born and raised in the Bay Area as the eldest and shortest of three, Marie integrates her personal motto of the three "G's": generosity, grit, and gratitude, in all that she does and aspires to do. She works towards applying and expressing herself beyond the theatrical stage to impact the lives of others through volunteer work, teaching, mentorship, and leadership roles.

In June 2015, Marie obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre Arts with a concentration in Musical Theatre and a dual minor in English and Philosophy from California State University, East Bay in Hayward, California. Her extra-curricular involvement include the Peer Mentor Services Program, University Honors Program, Associated Students, Inc. (Student Government), theatrical performances, volleyball coaching, and social justice/cultural awareness causes and events.

Following graduation, she accepted a position as an Associate Liaison Specialist at the Fukuoka Institute of Technology (FIT) in Fukuoka, Japan. There, Marie spearheaded PR/Marketing initiatives in the Section of International Affairs; coordinated study abroad program pre- and post-departure training and assessment; supported students from Jyoto High School and FIT's undergraduate, junior college, and graduate students; and facilitated leadership and language training for faculty and administrative staff members.

Inspired by her students, mentees, and the mentors who shaped her to be who she is today, Marie returned to the United States and prepared the transition into graduate school while simultaneously teaching as an Instructional Assistant and Leadership Co-Adviser at Saint Edward Elementary (TK-8) School in Newark, California. In Fall 2017, Marie moved to East Lansing, Michigan to pursue a master's degree in Student Affairs Administration (SAA) at Michigan State University (MSU).

Marie held a graduate assistantship as the Media Coordinator and Writing Consultant at The Writing Center @ MSU. A year prior, she was simultaneously an Assistant Media Coordinator and supervised peer consultants as a Satellite Coordinator in one of seven on-campus locations, housing first-year and international students. In terms of practicum experience, Marie worked in the Office of the Associate Provost for Undergraduate Education at MSU on Assessment and Curriculum Development for first year experience courses. Additionally, she returned to her alma mater to develop a pilot program, in collaboration with faculty and student affairs staff, to train peer academic coaches and support first-year, first generation, low-income students of Color through the office of Student Equity and Success. Prior to obtaining her master’s degree, she additionally was involved in race and gender dialogue work as well as supporting media and program needs for the Asian Pacific American program at MSU.

Currently, Marie serves as the Asian American Pacific Islander (AAPI) Program Specialist within the department of Student Equity and Success. During the height of the pandemic amidst frequent staff vacancies and high turnover, Marie shares a range of experience working in areas of outreach and recruitment, program design and coordination, assessment as well as training, on-boarding, and oversight of staff for programs serving Black/African American, Latinx/Chicanx, Asian, and Pacific Islander students.

Marie is eager to dive into opportunities which call upon her passion to create efficient and equitable solutions as well as promote the development and empowerment of others, particularly women of Color. Outside of the student affairs field, Marie moonlights as an actor, karaoke aficionado, and professional pizza gobbler.
